Patricia  holds an "active"  DEA license and graduated from Florida International University (FIU) as a nurse practitioner  with a Master's degree in Nursing.  Subsequently, she spent 2 years working at Codac Behavioral in Tucson,  AZ  where she saw & treated patients with severe mental illness who actively engage in drug use.  By working at clinic with an "onsite" pharmacy,  methadone dispensary and laboratory upstairs, Patricia developed her skills as a provider.  She believes it  was this experience that professionally prepared her to open a private practice.  Born in Venezuela,  she is completely bilingual.   Presently, she is proudly serving young adults, professionals and children (ages >12) with a focus on college students in her private practice.

Previously married for 12 years, she has raised two children (now in their 20's) and is familiar with the challenges single and coupled parents face. She is member of the Obesity Medical Society and the Neurological Education Institute. She currently pursuing a certification as a "life coach" .   She enjoys hiking, camping,  music & spending time with her family.

During your evaluation, Patricia will spend up to 75 minutes with new patients and 30-45 minutes with established patients to develop the right treatment plan to meet your needs. Her practice offers the utmost privacy and confidentiality.  Currently, she is only  accepting  cash payments and a few commercial insurance plans such as Aetna, Cigna, United etc.  A receipt will be provided for tax purposes should you prefer.

Signs of Depression
 

  • Feelings of sadness, tearfulness, emptiness or hopelessness

  • Angry outbursts, irritability or frustration, even over small matters

  • Loss of interest or pleasure in most or all normal activities, such as sex, hobbies or sports

  • Sleep disturbances, including insomnia or sleeping too much

  • Tiredness and lack of energy, so even small tasks take extra effort

  • Reduced appetite and weight loss or increased cravings for food and weight gain

  • Anxiety, agitation or restlessness

  • Slowed thinking, speaking or body movements

  • Feelings of worthlessness or guilt, fixating on past failures or self-blame

  • Trouble thinking, concentrating, making decisions and remembering things

  • Frequent or recurrent thoughts of death, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts or suicide

  • Unexplained physical problems, such as back pain or headaches

        Signs of Bipolar Disoder

  • Abnormally upbeat, jumpy or wired

  • Increased activity, energy or agitation

  • Exaggerated sense of well-being and self-confidence (euphoria)

  • Decreased need for sleep

  • Unusual talkativeness

  • Racing thoughts

  • Distractibility

  • Poor decision-making — for example, going on buying sprees, taking sexual risks or making foolish investments
